The backdrop is a steel reinforced automatic door. This is also made from foam-core, painted with spray paint to look used. This panel was cut from a Burger King Frankenstein toy. The walls of the industrial portion of GENETRIX are made up mostly of fibre-board computer packing material. A red-haired GI Jane Helicopter Pilot stars as Vasquez. If I had had a black-haired version, I would have used that instead, as Vasquez is clearly Hispanic, and not a red-head. Vasquez's heavy-duty laser rifle is from a Star Wars 3.5" scale toy gun. It originally came with a stand, but when turned upside down, it actually served quite well as a large, heavy gun fit for Jane. Lens-flare on Vasquez's shoulder light was added later in Photoshop. This light above the door comes from a Burger King Frankenstein toy. The lab table has a green LED at the head, meant to light up the translucent Frankenstein's Monster when he lies on the lab table. I cut it out and glued it into a square hole I cut into the foam-core door frame. This is Frosty, aka Private R. Frost. He is an AA (African American) Adventures Of GI Joe, wearing fatigues.

This is a graphic I did originally in Corel Draw, and edited in Photoshop. It is meant to emulate the motion sensor in Aliens. As you can see, there are no alien blips on the scope at present.

This is simply the same shot seen above, using various Photoshop distortion filters and turned green in order to make it look as if the two Marines are seen from the eyes of one of the genetically mutated aliens.

The whole abduction is so silent, even Vasquez, standing two feet away is unaware of Frost's disappearance at first.

Note Frost was snapped up so fast, his boot got left behind.

The handle panels to the doors were bases from game pieces in a Star Wars game. The silver handles are just wooden dowel painted silver. Sconces are made of plastic easter-eggs, the rounded half, cut in half, painted silver inside, green outside. The silver is meant to diffuse light upward. In an attempt to personalize Hicks' armor, I applied this sticker of a ladybug that my daughter gave me. I had created this cartoon when I was in college. This is a genetic lab, so the Mens' and Womens' room doors are marked with the chromosomal XX and XY pairs instead. Subtle... most people don't get it. The signs on the doors are a bit of a joke... I had created this cartoon when I was in college. Just to hammer home the joke, I placed this sign here, to make sure people got it that these were washrooms. The handle panels to the doors were bases from game pieces in a Star Wars game. This one has a larger corona. The genetically mutated alien's tail is still in the shot, indicating that the dialogue between Hicks and Vasquez is happening quickly.

GENETRIX - just a random name to imply genetic research. Though the picture doesn't show it, the X is a double helix of atomic spheres. Light flare looks like something from Photoshop or Lightwave, but is actually how it appeared. Behind the sconce is a TapLight light. The moulding is plastic wall moulding painted semi-matte black. Details on its construction can be found on the "Behind the Scenes" page. Click here to see how it was constructed. This is a model of the Pulse Rifle from the movie Aliens. It was part of a "Hicks vs. Aliens" 12" figure set produced by Kenner around 1997. This is a Classic Collection GI Joe with the head of Corporal Hicks, wearing the Marine outfit that came with the "Hicks vs. Aliens" toy set. Click here to see a larger picture of the set in its box. The door to this area was made of foam core board, and painted using as a paint stencil the sides of the box from an Alien: Resurrection figure, which had the rounded rectangles cut into it. The boot left behind by Frost's abduction. Note that covering the boot is a small amount of Nickelodeon GAK, which is a great slimy substance. Sadly, the quality of the camera made it practically invisible.
