Who is this mysterious stranger?

Not often is Tegan at a loss for words. But her visitor's presence has made her speechless.

Adric? It's actually Adric, who Tegan last saw moments before a freighter hijacked by Cybermen crashed into the planet earth causing the extinction of the dinosaurs.

To Adric no time has passed since he last saw Tegan. For Tegan it's been years. Harry Potter is the closest I could come to Adric. While Harry is smiling a little too much, his hair is perfect. Astute Doctor Who fans may notice the red square on Adric's tunic which had held his star-shaped math badge until it was crushed by Cybermen in "Earthshock".

Tegan and Adric were never bosom buddies, but she was completely devastated by his death. His return to life has overjoyed her. Apparently the Doctor has briefed Adric on what happened.

She's right. He probably couldn't remain inconspicuous on Earth. Exo/Space Time continuum. A pocket universe located outside normal space. The Doctor found Adric there. Romana and K-9 left the Doctor to remain there.

Tegan's astonishment is well-founded. Many many fights broke out between Adric and the Doctor over the possibility of returning him to E space. Adric always lost the argument. The Doctor is still rationalizing. He has relented and is going to go through the trouble of returning Adric home after many refusals in the past.
