GI Joe
Adventure Team H2 Command Vehicle

Featuring the rugget Tonka H2 Hummer. This one has a bunch of features, some of which are cool, some of which are kind of useless. But at $49.96 at Sam's Club, it surpasses the New Bright Radio Control Hummer H2 in cost value, being about half the price, but it lacks in some features and detail. The New Bright has opening hood and rear door, and has a covered rear, rather than the pan. But the ridiculous wheel size makes this one more desirable to me. This one is more toy-like, and better fits the Adventure Team theme, but really, every good Joe fan should have one of each.

The yellow is a rich color that better suits the Adventure Team than the slightly paler yellow of the New Bright version. But this is not a comparison page, it's a page to show off this model.

The Tonka's electronic features include sound effects of engine noise when the truck is moved forward or backward including braking sounds. There are also levers inside to make the truck go forward or backward, but since it's not radio controlled, it's kind of useless.

The steering wheel turns the front wheels, and the front doors open and close. The mirrors turn, and the lights work. Well, the front lights and the rack of floodlights work. Push a switch and the lights go on for 8 seconds, then go out. (This could get annoying for photo shoots)

A toggle switch turns on signal lights as well.

The pan is an open cargo area, but the tailgate does not come down. However, the gray plastic roll bars look strong and they look good on the vehicle.

The winch has a very thin string on it, but it could pass for metal cable, I guess. The chrome hook is big, and hangs down in front of the thumb-dial winch.

The Commander, straight from his Judo session, checks out the new H2 Command Vehicle. Here, you can see the rack of floodlights, and while the camera's flash eliminates it, the headlights are on. The front doors open.
Finally! A vehicle with a winch! The large, heavy duty chrome winch hook looks like it can handle just about anything.
Rather than having a covered rear, this model has an open pan for carrying large and heavy loads.
The Commander and Joe (real name withheld of course) climb in and start 'er up.

"Let's give it a workout, Joe." the Commander says. Where's the nearest hill?

AT stickers were printed on clear plastic sticker paper, and applied by me. I also removed the "H2 Rescue" stickers that came with the vehicle.

I think my Joes will be having some very nice adventures in this one.
