GI Joe
Adventure Team "Thing"

Here, the Commander is enjoying a beautiful day at the beach. The "Thing" is really a German WWII Kubelwagen painted yellow. It differs from a genuine "Thing" in many ways, but mostly, the look is there. The real "Thing" has a much larger hood that doesn't take such a sharp angle downward. The headlights were in the chassis, instead of rising above it.

But the Commander is quite happy with his Kubelwagen.

This one was spray-painted yellow under less than ideal conditions, so the paint coverage could be better. The AT logo on the spare hub-cap was hand-painted.

Here, while he's in contact with base about some unusual animal sightings, we can see the solid lines of the Thing and the spare tire up front.
The Adventure Team's Thing has no cover, which spells trouble during rain, but the Adventure Team knows how to rough it. A shovel is conveniently placed for easy use.
As you can see, the Thing makes an excellent addition to the Adventure Team motor pool.
