{"id":3213,"date":"2017-11-26T15:16:34","date_gmt":"2017-11-26T15:16:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/?p=3213"},"modified":"2017-11-26T18:02:16","modified_gmt":"2017-11-26T18:02:16","slug":"qbert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/?p=3213","title":{"rendered":"Q*Bert!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3221 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/qbert.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"207\" height=\"243\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have long been a fan of the arcade game Q*Bert.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3223\" src=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/qbert-x2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Heck, I even created a kind of clone of it in BASIC for my Commodore 64, called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/c64\/boxxy.htm\">&#8220;BOXXY&#8221;<\/a> which even had a level editor.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3220\" src=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/boxxy-trapped1-x2-600x426.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/boxxy-trapped1-x2-600x426.gif 600w, http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/boxxy-trapped1-x2-422x300.gif 422w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I also found out Funko made a deformed version which I saw on shelves but was not happy with. Their tendency to square off round heads would just <strong>not<\/strong> work with Q*Bert.<\/p>\n<p>But then I saw they also made an Arcade series which were far more accurate, and before I actually found one, I had already made mine. But here&#8217;s theirs for comparison:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3234\" src=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/qbert-funko-a-583x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"583\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/qbert-funko-a-583x600.jpg 583w, http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/qbert-funko-a-292x300.jpg 292w, http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/qbert-funko-a.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 583px) 100vw, 583px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So in August I took it upon myself to create a 3D printed Q*Bert figure. It would not be difficult. Here, you see the weak spot.
