It&#8217;s a ship I created in 1997 based on a ship from the Steampunk RGP game: Space: 1889.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, Fine Scale Modeler featured a beautifully constructed model from the game, similar to the one shown below (not my model!)<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3330\" src=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/space1889-ship-model-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/space1889-ship-model-600x450.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/space1889-ship-model-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/space1889-ship-model-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/space1889-ship-model-400x300.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/space1889-ship-model.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But at the time I was envisioning my own world where air whales floated around like dirigibles, and I thought this was a nice base for an air whaler ship, which I then modeled in 3D in Lightwave, and rendered out as a fairly poor GIF file which I still have.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind, this was 1997.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3331\" src=\"http:\/\/www.huxter.org\/words\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/airwhaler4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The wires spanning the two boom arms were to carry the weight of the slaughtered air whale, which would of course no longer be able to support its own weight in atmosphere.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is not a 3D model (not yet).
