Marines must use hair gel a lot... Notice that at this point the creatures are still not referred to as "alien." The implication is that they were simply an experiment in genetics gone awry. Marines must use hair gel a lot... The Giant reposes after his battle...

In the film, the aliens' blood was indeed 100% molecular acid that could eat through several decks of floor if even small amounts were spilled. This is an excellent defense mechanism, as no one would want to kill one for fear of spreading its destructive blood everywhere, risking hull breaches in deep space. I also goofed here, calling them aliens. I didn't want them to be alien, but genetic experiments gone bad. Another big burp from the Giant...

The glare! The glare! OOoooohhhh... shiny! Look! Vasquez finally gets to speak again!

Glaiven is another verbal outburst Frink uses often. He even wrote it on a note once. Yes, the whole story was done for one simple sight gag, folks. Was it worth it? Click here to tell me. At this point I should have replaced Frink's hand with a regular one, but I didn't take the time to do that. This whole shoot took about 14 hours, and I was pretty tired at this point.

That's a big Rolaid! Frink's glasses are from the GI Joe Theodore Roosevelt set - highly sought-after by collectors. Frink's collar is creeping up on him. Normally I'd take the time to notice this and tuck it down for realism, but by this time we were 14 hours into the shoot, and very tired. And a bit grumpy. The Giant's mouth opens making way for scrap metal and other small objects to go down his throat. There is a hatch on his back to retrieve the swallowed objects.

Previous Page | Next Page Sconces are made of plastic easter-eggs, the rounded half, cut in half, painted silver inside, green outside. The silver is meant to diffuse light upward. GENETRIX - just a random name to imply genetic research. Though the picture doesn't show it, the X is a double helix of atomic spheres. Light flare looks like something from Photoshop or Lightwave, but is actually how it appeared. Behind the sconce is a TapLight light. The moulding is plastic wall moulding painted semi-matte black. Details on its construction can be found on the "Behind the Scenes" page. Click here to see how it was constructed. This is a model of the Pulse Rifle from the movie Aliens. It was part of a "Hicks vs. Aliens" 12" figure set produced by Kenner around 1997. This is a Classic Collection GI Joe with the head of Corporal Hicks, wearing the Marine outfit that came with the "Hicks vs. Aliens" toy set. Click here to see a larger picture of the set in its box. Eye lights are added in Photoshop. To get the mouth half-open I had to jam something into the hinge. Burp vapors painted in in Photoshop. Eye lights are added in Photoshop.
